The Struggle Bus, Yorkshire Adventures, And A Very Late Launch

Well, here we are! After what feels like a lifetime on the struggle bus, I’m finally launching my website. You’d think setting a launch date of 2nd September (my mum’s birthday, no less) would have lit a fire under me, but alas, it turns out that running a one-woman show has its fair share of detours and scenic routes. So, here I am, waaaay past the intended date, and it’s finally happening!

The dashboard of a car, going through a Costa Coffee Drive-Through
A quick pit stop at Costa (don’t tell my eldest daughter, she’s a supervisor for Starbucks 🤫) And that’s my lovely husband’s knee, not mine… Mine are hairier! 😜

But let me take you on a little detour of my own, back to a recent trip to Yorkshire. If you’ve never been, let me tell you, it’s a place that has a way of pulling at your heartstrings—especially when you’re there to source some beautiful new leathers. This wasn’t just any old sourcing trip; it was a chance to reconnect with family and soak in those lovely Yorkshire accents that make you feel right at home.

It *always* rains on the M6

Now, when I say I sourced some leather, I mean I literally filled the boot of our car to the brim with leather scraps! This haul is going to keep me busy for quite a while, though I’m going to have to sew at lightning speed if I want to get through it all in time to head back for another round. I was so excited with my rescues haul that I completely forgot to take a photo of it - which is a shame as it was quite a sight to behold!

It was during this trip that I realised just how much I miss those moments with family, the simple joy of being together. And as I scoured for leather destined for greatness (and by greatness, I mean fabulous, eco-conscious bags), it hit me that every piece I pick up has its own story to tell, just like each of us. And I can’t wait to share these stories with you through my creations.

Ahh, that’s better. They don’t call Yorkshire ‘God’s Own Country’ for nowt

So anyway… To my old friends and customers who have been with me from the start - thank you for your patience, your support, and for sticking around even when it seemed like this day might never come. To those of you who are new here - welcome! You’re jumping aboard at an exciting time, and I hope you’ll stick around for the ride. There’s plenty of goodness to explore in my little online shop, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you all.

So, without further ado, let’s go see what’s in store.

I promise, it’s been worth the wait…
