Description
Maven is the bag for people who've decided that less is genuinely more, and they're absolutely right about that. You know that Shakespeare saying 'though she be but little, she is fierce'? Well we can very much apply that here.
Brown leather. Gold hardware. A woven chevron strap that's adjustable, removable, and frankly very good-looking. A zip closure with two pulls so you can get into it from either side without the usual faff. And one internal zip pocket, because everything you actually need fits in one zip pocket and you know it.
The bit that makes Maven quietly brilliant: two connectors at the back, so you can wear it across your left shoulder or your right. It sounds minor. It is not minor. Ask anyone who's ever spent an embarrassing amount of time fighting their own bag strap outside a shop and they'll tell you.
Maven works crossbody for a hands-free day out, worn high across the chest if you're feeling fashion-forward, or slung over one shoulder for a more relaxed look. It's compact without being too small to be useful, and it's the kind of bag that just goes with things. Chinos and a white tee. A linen midi dress. Denim and a striped top. A summer dress on holiday. It doesn't demand to be the main event, but it always looks like you've made an effort.
Brown leather pairs with almost every summer colour going, from terracotta and sand to sage green, navy and cream. Maven is unisex, unfussy, and works for pretty much everyone.
Maven is made from leather that was heading straight for landfill. The industry had already decided it wasn't good enough, cast it as a manufacturing reject and moved on. It ended up here instead, handcrafted in the UK into a bag that's built to last properly. Small batch, circular fashion, made from materials that nearly didn't make it. Quietly satisfying, that.

Gorgeous bag!
This is a really beautiful bag. The leather is beautiful, it is so soft and it the bag is really well made. I love the classic shape with the modern twist clasp. The little touches like the beautiful interior lining, and the handy card slots and zipped interior pocket make it so special but also practical. I also got some free gifts with this bag - a really handy bag hook and a lovely little pack containing tissues, an emery board, a tiny sewing kit and a plaster (I think). I used the bag hook when I took the bag for its first outing on Thursday night and it was so handy as it was a wet evening so I didn't want to put the bag o the floor, even though it has little feet to protect it.
Thank you for the thoughtful extra touches and the lovely note that was in the box. I'm very pleased with my purchases.
