Description
Taupe's a funny colour to describe and an easy one to wear, somewhere between grey and brown, warm without being obviously so. This one leans mushroom, the sort of neutral that quietly gets on with whatever you're wearing rather than competing with it.
Skye does four jobs without making a fuss about any of them. Fold the strap away and carry her as a clutch, clip on the woven crossbody strap for hands free days, wear it as a belt bag if you're after something practical, or swap to the short silver chain for evenings when you want a bit more polish. One bag, four different nights out.
Inside, four card slots keep things organised properly rather than just thrown in loose, and a taupe, cream and turquoise botanical lining adds a nice bit of colour every time you open her up. The magnetic clasp means getting in and out is quick, no fiddling with a zip when your hands are full.
Taupe like this earns its keep in a capsule wardrobe precisely because it doesn't ask much of you. Cream trousers and a white shirt in summer, the bag doing quiet work against the neutrals. Come autumn, she sits beautifully against camel, burgundy and turquoise, picking up that botanical lining in a way that feels deliberate even when it's not. Denim works too, if you want something a bit more relaxed, jeans and a simple knit, crossbody strap on and done.

This is a really beautiful bag. The leather is beautiful, it is so soft and it the bag is really well made. I love the classic shape with the modern twist clasp. The little touches like the beautiful interior lining, and the handy card slots and zipped interior pocket make it so special but also practical. I also got some free gifts with this bag - a really handy bag hook and a lovely little pack containing tissues, an emery board, a tiny sewing kit and a plaster (I think). I used the bag hook when I took the bag for its first outing on Thursday night and it was so handy as it was a wet evening so I didn't want to put the bag o the floor, even though it has little feet to protect it.
Thank you for the thoughtful extra touches and the lovely note that was in the box. I'm very pleased with my purchases.
